YOUNG PEOPLE’S PROJECTS
From our mentoring and training programmes to working directly with community, health and educational organisations, we create opportunities for young people to develop their creative talents, build resilience and become active players in the local community.
Workshops at BAD
We run children’s workshops at B.A.D. throughout our festivals and within our on-going projects. All workshops and activities are facilitated by local artists. Past events include; The Buzztastic Bee-Balancing Blundershow by Sophie Fretwell and Bogdan Babei, Paper Puppets with Mahtab Grimshaw, Clay workshops with Beth Brickman, music workshops with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and themed creative activities with Maddison Collymore.

Design a Deck
Noyce Gardens DIY worked super hard to revive an abandoned skatepark and create a safe hang out space. This was in order to benefit the community of Townsend and the surrounding areas.
So, we launched our ‘Design a Deck’ competition in association with Mind Charity and Moose Skates to show our support, offer you the chance to do the same and hopefully raise a little bit of cash.
The Enchanted Cinema
The Enchanted Cinema includes work from across Eastern Europe brought to life with an eclectic array of unusual and rare instruments including a repurposed Habitat tealight holder!
They accompany a fascinating programme of international animations! Their live cinema scores are created by classically-trained musicians inspired by world, folk & contemporary music.
Churchill Gardens
We turned Churchill Gardens into a ‘community back garden’ with a weekend of art installations, family workshops and activities to engage all ages. It brought fun and colour to the gardens for everyone to enjoy in a relaxed atmosphere to end the festival. There was a variety of arts and craft workshops, music and performance acts across the gardens. This included African drumming with Cheikh Diop, willow making with Creative Kids, bubbles with Squidge and Pop and a silent disco among other workshops and activities.
