Beyond the festival BEAF is developing a year-round programme which aims to continue support for our creative community. Working with both business and community partners the aim is to realise, produce and deliver exceptional projects that are unique and yet meaningful and accessible to all.
One of the first to be established is The Outsiders Project, giving voice to the unheard and marginalised communities in Boscombe. The project works with outsider artists to show that people side-lined from society can write, perform and create work at the highest level. Two weekly creative writing workshops run throughout the year to develop writing for performance. All productions come from an authentic voice, written and delivered by the outsider artists.
Productions from The Outsiders Project have been performed at the last two BEAF festivals, The Vodka Hunters in 2018 and Secret Voices and The Truth About Men in 2019.
