Spilling out onto the streets, BEAF is building its first Art Pavilion, a space for workshops, performances and maybe a game of backgammon or chess. Created by local designer Karolina Bilvinaite, from Bed Studio, the pavilion combines the work of artists and the community, making this a vibrant and colourful hub for the duration of the festival. Street artists Slam Daniels and Tech Moon have worked together with students from SWRAC, the South West Regional Assessment Centre, supporting young people with learning differences, to create a four metre high artwork, a cabinet of curiosities taking references from Boscombe’s past and future.
BEAF Art Pavilion Workshop Programme Sat 17 – Sun 25 June 11-1pm & 2-4pm daily Every day the Art Pavilion will be hosting drop-in and bookable workshops. Over the Opening Weekend, join Keira Rathbone to create an exhibition of ‘typewriter eyes’ or for young ones, watch the Buzztastic Bee-Balancing Blundershow. The Cabinet of Living Cinema joins us for animation workshops, and throughout the week you can take part in printing your own T-shirt, lino-printing, creative writing, up-cycling, drawing, zine making and much more.
BEAF ART pavilion is a BEAF 2023 Commission. Pavilion designed by Karolina Bilvinaite, banner design by Nat Cook, artwork by Ninth Seal and Tech Moon and scaffolding provided by Sureworks Scaffolding Ltd.
