Come and check out some of the brightest new talent at the BEAF Prime Cuts performance showcase. Six new works will be showcased combining a programme of group and solo performances, using a unique blend of theatre, spoken word and song to explore themes of identity and humanity.  Choose your time to see all six performances, either the early doors slot starting at 2pm or the evening time kicking off at 7pm.

Included in the line-up:

Through the power of rhyme, rhythm, and words, Jasmine Armstrong’s solo performance aims to bring awareness and light to the difficult subject of suicide, spreading the message that you are never alone.

Nick Monfard’s performance YIKES,  asking the unanswered questions of a graduate with cut-throat lyricism, YIKES questions how we perceive ourselves as we ‘enter the real world’.

Harry Dane’s one person performance Everybody Knows Judy, a drag cabaret performance, take inspiration from theatre practitioner Dickie Beau, who uses ‘Drag Fabulism’ to tell a story.

Hazel Mayall’s performance attempts to answer the question ‘What does it mean to be human?’, drawing on spoken word and theatre techniques to explore the human experience and how, once we’ve accepted the responsibilities of being alive, we can learn how to let ourselves thrive.

Julian Southall’s 3 person performance, Columbine is both emotional and uplifting with a twist of humour as he tackles the subject of Alzheimer’s disease.

Josh Ward’s ‘Being Josh’ is a one-man show, written and performed by Josh Ward. Looking back at 2020, the show takes a journey through an extraordinary and challenging year, and the life-changing impact it had on people. ‘Being Josh’ explores judgement, mental health and the toxicity of social media through the eyes of one young man’s personal experiences.
