BEAF launches film screenings

Great news for film lovers in Boscombe!

BEAF Kickstarter Maddy has made a successful application to BFI’s Cinema for All LaunchPad scheme. Part of a new training and support programme, LaunchPad will bring our community cinema to life in the B.A.D. building from this autumn.

Maddy and the Kickstarter team, Lucy and Angel will be taking part in coaching sessions and following this support will be programming the B.A.D. Cinema during October and November.

Year round screenings at B.A.D.

The longterm plan is to set up a year-round programme of film screenings and film events so this scheme is the first stage to get the community cinema up and running. The cinema was originally set up for this year’s BEAF festival, providing a unique space in our B.A.D. building and offering a more relaxed and accessible screening space. Fitted out with comfy sofas and recliners, the cinema will be the first independent screening space in Boscombe.

The plan will be to show a programme of films for our audiences that would not be available through the main commercial cinemas, and with the help from the British Film Institute, who have their own distribution service and advisers, they will be providing their expertise to launch the programme.
