Open School Creative (OSC)
Open School Creative (OSC) is a creative development network for all artists and creative practitioners operating within Dorset and the wider South West.
OSC is a collaboration between BEAF Arts Co and TOSH (The Old School House) to support our community of artists and their artistic development at all stages of their career. OSC events and workshops are for artists interested in collaboration, skills development, community and networking.
OSC will bring together our community and artistic development programmes, including Access BEAF and TOSH’s Start Up Programme and Creative Hub, while adding new, regular drop-in workshops and talks in response to the needs of our network.
Why we need OSC:
- To provide a case of support for artistic development in Dorset
- To empower artists through sharing resources and skill building
- To create welcoming spaces where people come together
- To build up connections between isolated and marginalised communities
- To establish Boscombe as a leading space for arts and culture in the South West
TOSH
TOSH is a creative community and coworking space, and is a Grade II listed building based in the centre of Boscombe. TOSH supports local creative businesses with workspace packages and meeting rooms, as well as free drop-in Cowork Club mornings and Creative Hub nights. TOSH also offers regular arts workshops to join, and is available for hire for events.
BEAF
BEAF Arts Co is an open-access, multi-art form festival and year round arts programme based on the south coast in Boscombe, Bournemouth. We are an innovative and independent organisation of freelancers and volunteers, who feel passionately that culture changes communities for the better.
OSC Network
So far our speakers have included Ceri Hand, Laura Sweeney from The Uncultured, Sadie Edginton, Harold Offeh and Laura Eldret.
Please sign up to our mailing list to hear more about OSC and fill out the OSC feedback form to help us shape our programming for Open School Creative 2024 by telling us what events and workshops you would like to see.
