Portraits of Boscombe 

Brendan Barry

Over the course of the festival ‘Portraits of Boscombe’ commissioned from artist Brendan Barry invited visitors to capture images of Boscombe and the people within our community using a camera obscura. 

The captured 108 portraits were displayed in the exhibition and the obscura remained at B.A.D. after the festival for our on-going projects and workshops. 

Brendan Barry is a photographer, educator and camera builder whose creative photographic practice combines elements of construction, education, performance and participation. Brendan is founder & director of Positive Light Projects, a not for profit organisation using the visual arts to engage and inspire a diverse range of audiences and communities as well as developing emerging artists and aiding them move their practise forward in exciting and innovative ways.
