FAQs
Is this an art workshop?
Make Art is a place to make your own work alongside other artists and share your practice. There may be some skill sharing with other artists, but it is not a formal workshop, more a relaxed space to create freely.
What should I bring with me?
You can bring your sketchbook, latest project or potential ideas with you. Some basic materials are provided (paper, pens, pencils, pastels) but you are encouraged to bring your own. Please don’t bring hazardous or potentially dangerous materials to the group, such as sharp knives or aerosols.
Am I eligible to take part?
You do not need to already be an Outside In artist to take part, but you do need to face barriers to the art world, such as health, disability, social circumstance and isolation. If you’re unsure whether this is a good fit for you, please do get in touch with Beth Hopkins at beth.hopkins@outsidein.org.uk to talk it through.
Is Make Art accessible for me?
We aim to make the group as accessible as possible for everyone coming. Everyone’s needs are different, so if you have requirements please get in touch with Beth Hopkins at beth.hopkins@outsidein.org.uk to let us know how we can make sure the session works for you. For example, you might need a quiet breakout space, space for an electric wheelchair or walker, guide dogs, and you are also welcome to bring someone with you for support (please book a place for them too). If you need a disabled parking space, please contact Beth to book.
