About The Fringe
The Bournemouth Emerging Arts Fringe aims to support and promote the diverse range of arts and culture happening in Bournemouth. Now in its second year, BEAF has established itself as an open access, Bournemouth wide festival which runs on the fringes of the Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival. This year, BEAF will be taking place from the 15th October – 1st November.
 
The Benefits
We offer a platform to try out new work, increase your audiences, gain reputation and enhance exposure to industry professionals. You will meet and build relationships with like-minded arts professionals and have fun along the way. We provide the opportunity for all submitted events to be featured on our websites; social media and other printed marketing material.  This enables the Fringe to support you in developing new audiences and linking all participating parties together in an exciting celebration of the arts.
We appreciate that a lot of artists and organisations need support in finding suitable locations for their events or may want to be included within a group event such as an exhibition or poetry night that is already happening. It is because of this that we are working with a range of local venues and organisations to help facilitate your events and ideas.
Here’s what we can offer you:

  • Your event listing on the Bournemouth Emerging Arts Fringe website, online programme, social media pages and printed marketing material.
  • Your event listing on the Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival website.
  • Support and guidance with event logistics and finding the perfect venue.
  • Assistance and support with the management of your media and marketing campaign.

 
The Submission Process
To begin your creative submission to the Bournemouth Emerging Arts Fringe, click here.
While filling out the submission form please keep in mind that the way in which you present your event is exactly how it will be promoted. Take care to provide descriptions and information that you are happy to be presented to the public. Remember – your application can be edited after submission.
Once you have submitted the submission form, please submit via email 1-3 photos that you would like to be used to promote your event. Please do not attach posters or photos with logos or text. For use on the websites, the photos must be a minimum size of 600×1000 – the bigger the better.  Landscape images are preferable. If you are unsure how to respond to these requirements, send the largest image you have. You can email these photos to Lia at lia.obrien@bournemouth.gov.uk. If you do not have an image, you will be able to use the BEAF holding image or you could consider collaborating with a Fringe illustrator.
Finally, you are welcome to join the Fringe Forum group on Facebook. This will enable you to converse with other Fringe artists and ask any questions you may have. This group is an important part of making the Fringe the best it can be. We believe in making the festival as open access as possible, so if you do not have a clear vision of your own event but you would still love to be creatively involved with someone else’s, you still can! Remember – your events can be promoted year round on the Arts Bournemouth website just by simply loading your event details to the Arts Bournemouth website.
